Got 50 cents off Slow Kettle soup coupon in Sunday preprint. Decided to use it at local Kroger.Got shocked at shelf price, but judged that 50 cents off might be worth a try.

Tried to find directions to microwave soup. Indecipherable small, orange print on black background! Design genius in Camden, N.J.! Got reading glasses to try to read directions.

No luck. Got magnifying glass I use to read copyright dates on back of my baseball cards. No luck. Finally figured out that 1-1/2 or 2 minutes in microwave would work.

Took a guess that black container top wasn't needed to prevent spill in microwave. Soup came out of microwave properly nuked. Too much salt, as is usual for many Campbell's products, since Mother Campbell has never learned to spare her salt shaker. A couple of small pieces of chicken were found amid the salty broth.

All right, I saved 50 cents but spent 3 bucks or so on this noble experiment. Will I try Slow Kettle soups again after all the hassle with directions, etc.?

Well, maybe with a $4 coupon! (But probably not.) Bob O Huntsville, Texas
